- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

- 1 tablespoon cooking oil for steaming the meatballs
- For mushroom sauce
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1/4-1/2 cup flour depending on how thick you like the sauce
- 3 cups sauce (beef, chicken or vegetable)

- In a large bowl, combine all the chopped ingredients (beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic salt, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper). Place 4 oval meatballs.

- Keep the same saucepan and beef juices above 275 F. Add the mushrooms and onions and cook the golden onions and excess liquid mushrooms until evaporated, about 10 minutes.
- Add garlic and butter. Cook for about 1 minute.
- Add flour, cook and stir to remove lumps. Add about 1/2 - 1 cup beef stock and stir to combine.
- Slowly add the remaining sauce and stir until well combined. Season to taste with salt and pepper (salt and spices will thicken slightly as you reduce).
- When the sauce begins to boil, reduce the heat to a minimum. Stir frequently until sauce has thickened to a medium layer of 175°F (cooked), about 5-10 minutes. Add the Salisbury steak patties to the sauce and cook the steak patties until you feel ready to cook them (usually about 5-10 minutes), stirring the sauce occasionally. Enjoy the flavor and add more salt and pepper to taste.
- 9. Serve the steak with mushroom sauce. Rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes with corn and broccoli cream are great!
